The Metaverse Shakespeare Company (MSC), formerly known as the SL Shakespeare Company (SLSC), is the first and only professional theatrical production troupe set completely within the virtual world of Second Life. Our performances showcase one or more rare gems of professional theatre on SL–RL professional acting talent, custom wardrobe and avatar design and scenic or locational-specific design, and even technological marvels. A MSC production is always delightful, timeless and unforgettable.

We hold public, private, and VIP performances regularly in our theatres–the 4-sim SL Globe Theatre, the Blackfriars Theatre, and the Rose Theatre. Like thespians from Shakespeare’s era, we also take great honor in being able to give private performances at Courts, Homes, and other Venues, as designated by our most esteemed private performance-sponsoring patron.

A MSC Private Performance is superb for a variety of occasions:

• Grand Opening: A monumental performance that will establish your brand as a supporter of the arts in virtual worlds, and delight your guests with entertainment of the finest taste on SL.
• Court Events: Sure to impress and have the nobles and other courtiers gossiping and talking for months after the show.
• Customer Appreciation: Nothing says “thank you” like a MSC Private Performance.
• Fundraiser: Further your cause by giving your donors the rare delight of a live theatrical performance.
• RezDay or Birthday: A party that schedules a live performance by MSC actors will give your guests a treat tons better than the ultimate goodies bag.
• Wedding or Anniversary: Let you and your significant other witness a MSC play to commemorate this special date.
• Holidays, Graduations, and Other Social Gatherings: A MSC performance is a legendary and memorable event for any occasion, any audience–even non-English-speakers. (Our plays are performed with live subtitles, and select plays are available in other languages.)

Private Performance Packages

The Metaverse Shakespeare Company (MSC) currently offers three main private performance packages, of works selected from a list below. Please contact us for performances of works that are not listed.

• L$12,500 - “Solo Star“: A lone MSC actor performs for up to 20 minutes.
  • 1 MSC-licensed actor, dressed in MSC wardrobe.
  • Any scene, monologue, or soliloquy from theatre. (Note time limit.)
  • No formal blocking or animations will be prepared, but the actor may improvise movement.
• L$75,000 - “Reader’s Theatre“: A troupe of up to 3 MSC actors perform a staged reading of up to 60 minutes.
  • 3 MSC-licensed actors, dressed in MSC Crew T-shirts
  • Any piece you wish us to read. (Note time limit.)
  • No formal blocking or animations will be prepared, but the actor may improvise movement.
• L$100,000 - “MiniProduction for Me!“: A MSC cast performs the entire ensemble of one of our legendary single-scene miniproductions, including custom wardrobe and scenery.*
  • MSC actors (including a MSC director), dressed in full wardrobe.
  • MSC props, animations, and other virtual theatre enhancements used
  • Live Subtitles in English, and other languages.
  • A MSC set will be rezzed at your venue.**,***
  • Choice from Current Selection of Scenes:
    • Hamlet:
      • Act 1, Scene 1 Extended (includes the Ghost’s soliloquy)
      • Act 3, Scene 2 - “The Mousetrap”
    • Twelfth Night:
      • Act 1 - Choice of Any of 5 Scenes.
      • Act 2 - Choice of Any of 5 Scenes.
    • Henry VIII - Scene TBD
    • Romeo and Juliet - Scene TBD
    • King Lear - Scene TBD

Each private performance comes with the following additional benefits:

1. Customized Ticket: We will print your logo or brand on a novelty ticket you can give to your guests.
2. Seasonal Gift from the SL Globe Theatre Gift Shop: All guests attending the event will get a MSC goody for their inventory treasure!
3. Customized Publicity Material: A MSC playbill with the time and venue of your private performance. OR Special Effects Choreography and Script Customization/Adaption to your Event
