Thank you for your interest in private performances by Second Life’s premier professional theatre troupe, the SL Shakespeare Company (SLSC). While we primarily perform for a public audience in the SL Globe Theatre because it is one of the few period venues set in the confluence of 4 island simulators — thus allowing for the maximal number of local audience members — we are now accepting requests for both performances outside of our theatre and also inhouse private performances.

Please note that these private performances will (by default) not include our usual “donation spiels,” but you may also request these traditional lines if you wish. Since these private performances are funded, we will not rez our tip jars, unless you request it. Our actors will come dressed in either a default or generic SLSC-designer outfit, but if you have specific requirements, there are option packages available for those too. We are also not offering publicity packages at the time, but there are options for promotional material. Details are as below.

All requests must be made at least 6 weeks in advance. If you request a custom scene, the request must be made at least 3 months in advance.

Although we are known for our Shakespearen productions, we may also perform works by other playwrights. Before inquiring, please make sure you have the rights to the playscript, especially for this medium.

~ Optional Bonus: You may request 2 characters from a current or past SLSC performance at our main venue, and the actor will come as dressed specifically as the character.

- A small-sized “Old Globe Theatre” stage to be rezzed temporarily at your venue.
- A specific outfit set or prop, and we will do our best to match it from our inventory.

- A custom soliloquy or scene of your request. For the latter, please note that it will be performed by either one or two actors per your package.
- A custom promotional poster for your private performance.

New Staged Reading Series Special: A 30-60% surcharge will be assessed if a production of a play that has not been done by our company is requested depending on the complexity of the production. In addition, a L$10,000 fee will be charged per costume outfit for full costume readings.

======== “Mini-Production”+

L$150,000 per 10 minute or single scene performance of any of our current available productions for a private audience at the SL Globe Theatre.

For productions at any other facilities outside of our headquarters, a L$50,000 setup fee will be charged. We will rez a stage and part of the Globe Theatre with a single scene set installed for temporary purposes. (Please have at least 2500 prims available, and please provide rez permissions at least a week before the show. Please make sure to not return the objects until after the event, or risk being accessed another L$50,000 for re-setup.) These full-fledge productions are extremely popular. If you are planning a public performance, to account for audience load, we highly recommend that you have 2 or 4 sims, one for the audience and 1 for the actors for these productions, or 1 for the stage and 3 for the audience members, as in the SL Globe Theatre.

A L$20,000 discount will be applied when purchasing 3 or more performances of the same production.
We also accept commissions of scenes that is not currently available. Please contact us for a quote.

======== “Full Length Full Production”

Custom scenes will need to be ordered at least 3 months in advance. “Rush orders” of existing scenes and staged readings may be made at 3x the marked price no less than 4 weeks to showdate. “Absolute Rush orders” of existing single scenes and staged readings may be made in no less than 24 hours to showtime at 10x the marked price to compensate for actor overtime and potential all-nighter’s.
